Quick worgen question

Do we know if players will be able to customize their human form as well as their worgen form? Or will we only be able to customize the worgen form and get a default human form?

I apologize if the answer to this is somewhere. I've tried searching for the answer but I can't seem to find it.

Thank you in advance. :3

But I'm a Blizzard Employee!

Hey ladies, long time no posting. I haven't been that hardcore into wow as of late but I had an amusing story that I just had to share.

Last night I was checking auctions when I saw someone in general chat advertising a For the Horde! run. I asked my husband if he wanted to give that a try since we'd never gotten the achievement on our horde characters. We hopped on to our mains and got invited into the raid, there were about 30 people in there, a good sign. The raid leader told us to meet outside Ogrimar, so we did.

So the whole raid is standing around Org trying to figure out what would happen next. We're all talking but no one is really leading. The raid leader was mysteriously quiet. So I offered to help guide the raid since I've played alliance and know the layout of the major cities. I suggest we try Darnasssus and Exodar first since they are next to each other and the cities aren't crowded. We agree to meet over in Zoram Strand in Ashenvale and ride out from there.

We start riding over and then the raid leader who, says

Raid leader: hey guys I'm back from being AFK, where are you guys going?
Me: we're flying to Zoram strand and then running to darkshore.
Raid Leader: where's zoram strand? can I get a summon? Halp!

15 minutes to spare. Had it all along.

My baby paladin had used the summon trick to get her title already, and lucked out on the "right" healy cloak dropping on that one run. But she's prot atm, and half of her eventual specs always will be. I really had hoped for that nice tank cloak. But to get it, I'd have to get from 74 -> 78 by festival end. Now initially I thought that would be hard but doable - because I thought I would have Monday to work on it. But of course hubby pointed out Saturday that no, that actually meant the event would end in the wee hours of Monday morning. Ok, so TWO days to go from 73-78. My previous best effort was ~1 level every 2 days.

Just tell yourself you can't do it, it seemed Collapse )

tl:dr: Baby Protadin engages in epic level grind and finally wins the tanking cloak off Ahune 15 minutes before the event ends.

Recently, we introduced our new Real ID feature - www.battle.net/realid/ , a new way to stay connected with your friends on the new Battle.net. Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about our plans for Real ID on our official forums, discuss the design philosophy behind the changes we’re making, and give you a first look at some of the new features we’re adding to the forums to help improve the quality of conversations and make the forums an even more enjoyable place for players to visit.

The first and most significant change is that in the near future, anyone posting or replying to a post on official Blizzard forums will be doing so using their Real ID -- that is, their real-life first and last name -- with the option to also display the name of their primary in-game character alongside it. These changes will go into effect on all StarCraft II forums with the launch of the new community site prior to the July 27 release of the game, with the World of Warcraft site and forums following suit near the launch of Cataclysm. Certain classic forums, including the classic Battle.net forums, will remain unchanged.

The official forums have always been a great place to discuss the latest info on our games, offer ideas and suggestions, and share experiences with other players -- however, the forums have also earned a reputation as a place where flame wars, trolling, and other unpleasantness run wild. Removing the veil of anonymity typical to online dialogue will contribute to a more positive forum environment, promote constructive conversations, and connect the Blizzard community in ways they haven’t been connected before. With this change, you’ll see blue posters (i.e. Blizzard employees) posting by their real first and last names on our forums as well.

We also plan to add a number of other features designed to make reading the forums more enjoyable and to empower players with tools to improve the quality of forum discussions. Players will have the ability to rate up or rate down posts so that great topics and replies stand out from the not-so-great; low-rated posts will appear dimmer to show that the community feels that they don’t contribute effectively to the conversation, and Blizzard’s community team will be able to quickly and easily locate highly rated posts to participate in or to highlight discussions that players find worthwhile.

In addition, individual topics will be threaded by context, meaning replies to specific posts will be grouped together, making it easier for players to keep track of multiple conversations within a thread. We’re also adding a way for Blizzard posters to “broadcast” important messages forums-wide , to help communicate breaking news to the community in a clear and timely fashion. Beyond that, we’re improving our forum search function to make locating interesting topics easier and help lower the number of redundant threads, and we have more planned as well.

With the launch of the new Battle.net, it’s important to us to create a new and different kind of online gaming environment -- one that’s highly social, and which provides an ideal place for gamers to form long-lasting, meaningful relationships. All of our design decisions surrounding Real ID -- including these forum changes -- have been made with this goal in mind.

We’ve given a great deal of consideration to the design of Real ID as a company, as gamers, and as enthusiastic users of the various online-gaming, communication, and social-networking services that have become available in recent years. As these services have become more and more popular, gamers have become part of an increasingly connected and intimate global community – friendships are much more easily forged across long distances, and at conventions like PAX or our own BlizzCon, we’ve seen first-hand how gamers who may have never actually met in person have formed meaningful real-life relationships across borders and oceans. As the way gamers interact with one another continues to evolve, our goal is to ensure Battle.net is equipped to handle the ever-changing social-gaming experience for years to come.

For more info on Real ID, check out our Real ID page and FAQ located at http://www.battle.net/realid/ . We look forward to answering your questions about these upcoming forum changes in the thread below.

One important point which I don't believe has been relayed yet is that the switch to showing RealID on the forums will only happen with the new forum systems we're launching for StarCraft II shortly before its release, and a new forum system for World of Warcraft launching shortly before the release of Cataclysm.

All posts here on the current World of Warcraft forums, or any of our classic Battle.net forums, will remain as-is. They won't (and can't) automatically switch to showing a real first and last name.

All posts in the future on the new forum systems will be an opt-in choice and ample warning will be given that you're posting with your real first and last name.

Edit #2: Security flaw allows addons to expose full real life names without user permission

Your battle.net account full name is exposed to all your addons (and thus potentially to anyone) without ever adding any realid friends.

/run for i=1,100 do if BNIsSelf(i)then BNSendWhisper(i,"RealID whisper from yourself..");break end end

Note: Enabling parental controls on your account will prevent this from working.

Edit #4:  Good morning folks!  There is a new master post on the subject here.  You're still welcome to chat about RealID here, but if you want to join the most recent discussion, you may want to check out the master post!

It's that pesky Tree again!

Okay, having sorted my mouse out, and rejigged my bindings, I'm doing okay with my healing now. However....I'm having a major fight with my Rebirth, it just would not seem to cast whatever I did last night for love or money. I tried all sorts.

Anyone else had this issue? And any suggestions for alternative uber rapid ways of battle rezzing?

WTB full runs?

Ok....I've been leveling through LFG and something has really started bugging the heck out of me.

When going through a lowbie instance.....why the heck does EVERYONE skip mobs?! It makes no sense. We're there to level, obviously the more things we kill, the quicker we can level.

See, I understand skipping when you're 80. You don't need experience, so you're going through as little as you can because all you need are the emblems. I do NOT understand skipping things in non-80 instances. Especially if dps queues are usually 15+ and healer queues are dependent on if there's a tank actually queuing at the time they are (as well as the time of day o.x).

Can someone please explain to me why people feel the need to skip in these?

Installing Question

So last Friday, my computer died.

I just have some questions about when I put WoW onto my new one which I will be getting soon, I hope.

- I have the 4 original WoW discs, can I use the BC & Wrath discs to install the rest of the content, or will I have to Download BC & Wrath from the Website?

- Will I have to buy new BC & Wrath for a different serial code, or is that only for Account Creation?

- Will this System (http://www.scorptec.com.au/system/80) With Asus Vid Card and 1TB HDD with Windows 7 OS, Run WoW on High Graphics, do 25mans & Have a lovely Fps?

Apparently getting this one: http://www.scorptec.com.au/system/109 which is a heap better, xD

I'm getting withdrawals here and it's only been 4 days D:

A Role Playing PvPer Question

Heya all you WoW_Ladies and Gents.

Got a bit of a puzzlement going on in my brain of late, so if you could bear with me a moment. I admit, I pvp. On an RP server.

And while yes I pvp, I'm not what you would call every day, battle ground after battle ground sort. I'm more the 'Oh hey WG just popped lets go dance on the corpses!'. But lately I've begun to ponder about gear.

To be specific PvP gear for a Affliction warlock.

The problem is for the 'best' gear I would have to sludge my way through arenas. And I've tried that before with very very baddddd results. Poor little Morve wound up in a corner crying for a good hour after one match against this Gnome rogue and Night Elf shadow Priest...

So in all your vast volumes of knowledge or advice...

What sort of gear should I lean towards or try to save for?

This is her current gear: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Moon+Guard&cn=Morvelaira Obviously not really for PvP. How can I better that?
[WoW] hunters do it with their pets

Help with PvP BM spec

My little belf hunter and I decided that arenas are kinda cool, as are PvP battlegrounds. I decided to spec back into BM because a) exotic pets are beautiful and b) this guide actually considered BM a viable PvP spec. Now so far I haven't touched arenas, as I lack a mouse and really, my gear is in tatters.

Here's my armoury link: Albaz likes to pew pew.

It's a mish-mash of PvE and PvP and I'm saving up to get the entire Furious Gladiator set, and run VoA whenever I can for the Wrathful update. I still have the Insignia of the Horde as one of my trinkets and so far it's proven useful.

Now, I don't actually have a rotation. I'll pop Bestial Wrath when it's off cooldown, I put Concussive Shot up when I can and I have Serpent Sting up at all times. Other than that I sorta just run around and try hard not to die. =/ Sometimes it works, but mostly it fails miserably.

So, wow_ladies, I come to you for help:

1) What gems and enchants should I be looking for? AP? Resilience? ArPen?

2) Is there a specific rotation to keep in mind, or do I just pop everything?

3) Is a chimera the best pet to have in PvP? Hunter's Lodge seemed to think it is, but I don't really know. Also, what build should I follow for it, seeing as it lacks talents. Erm, should I quest with it out so I dings 80? o_o I thought it would do that on its own...

You all helped me so much when it came to my PvE spec and now I'm pulling 4.5k-5k DPS in raids. I'm slowly looking at re-gemming for ArPen over Agility on my MM, but that's another story. For now, I would love any advice on doing better in BGs/arenas. Thank you <3
