Cartographer- no more?

 I keep hearing rumors that Cartographer is no more or will be gone in WOTLK which makes me very sad since I love that addon.

Is this true?

If it is (or will be), any good replacements?

There are WOTLK Cartographer addons, but not Cartographer itself.

If Cartographer is gone I will be a very sad panda. :(

I switched to Mapster/GatherMate since I heard the Cartographer guys were no longer updating.

The only thing it doesn't have that Carto had was guildie tracking.

I actually switched to Gathermate since Cart' was giving me some wiiiierd lag issues as of late :x

Based on what I have heard, Cartographer 2 wasn't updated, and Cartographer 3 was quasi-abandoned by cknight, its author. Mapster + GatherMate + Routes makes an excellent (and updated) replacement.

I use Data and Sharing. Data is updated frequently and fills your maps with all known resource nodes fresh off Wowhead, and Sharing is to share nodes with other friends and guildmembers who use GatherMate.

Thanks for asking this question...I was just updating my mods and noticed that Cartographer wasn't working. Now I know what to do!

That's what happened to me :). And then I googled it and saw a lot of hearsay about Cartographer not working/not getting updated etc..

So Mapster and some guildie-tracking add-on would be the way to go now?
