Rambling Thoughts

I have a whole bunch of WoW stuff on my mind and no one to talk to about it right now, so I thought I'd go ahead an post here. You can just ignore it if you aren't interested in my meandering thought trains.

Yesterday was a super busy day for me. In addition to working a full day at my job, I had a three hour raid scheduled PLUS it was the last day of RAF for my Monk/Hunter duo. Because of work and the raid, I wasn't overly optimistic about being able to get my Monk/Hunter to 80 before my RAF expired, but I wanted to get them as far as I could. They were sitting at 68 and I had just taken them to Howling Fjord.

Luckily servers came back up in time for me to play a bit on my lunch break, so I got them to 69 and partway to 70. Then it was back to my job for the afternoon. As soon as I got off work, I rushed home and logged back in again and managed to get them to 76 in time for my raid (including a break for dinner). Unfortunately, my raid was scheduled from 9:00 to Midnight, my time, so I knew I'd be in for a LATE night if I pressed on after the raid. And I had to be at work in the morning.

There are a couple of things about my raid I want to talk about too. First off, the group I run with on my Shaman (Tues/Weds) is only 6/6 in normal MSV and 1/6 in normal HoF. We JUST got both Elegon and Will of the Emperor down for the first time two weeks ago. So, we have this guy who has started bringing his Resto Druid alt to our raids. His main is a Monk and he's in the most progressed raid on Alliance side on our server on his main. So he's a total know-it-all and in our very first raid with him, he completely took over as if he were the raid lead. Telling people what to do and where to stand and all that junk. It was more than a little obnoxious. But the real raid leads put up with it, so what can you do?

Well, despite being a bossy PITA, he is a very good healer. So I have to respect that much at least. I've grown to tolerate him over the past few weeks and even found myself occasionally cracking a smile at his jokes and such. Anyway, he got his main raid to take his Druid through HoF last week so he could "unlock" ToES for our raid. I'm NOT thrilled about this. He insists that ToES is easier than HoF and we're better off progressing there, but it just doesn't sit right with me for us to move on to content we technically haven't earned the right to work on yet. It feels like cheating. And it also diminishes the pride in out group's meager accomplishments. Does that make sense?

The other thing I found out about him last night is that he absolutely refuses to do dailies. Now, I know a lot of people hate dailies, but if you are going to be this uber-raider, min/maxer, it seems pretty lame to not do dailies at all. I have three 90's and I've managed to get my free Klaxxi ring on all of them, as well as getting to Revered with all the VP reps. This all came up because he won two different healing rings last night and replaced two blue rings and I was like "how do you still have two blue rings?!?!". Like I said, I have three 90's and both of my second 90's had their Klaxxi rings within 2-3 days of dinging 90. So I was surprised his alt didn't have it yet. Apparently he never even got Revered with the Klaxxi on his main, so he doesn't have the Grand Commendation to be able to get the ring at exalted for minimal effort. It literally takes two days of dailies plus all the normal Dread Wastes quests to get exalted once you have the commendation. Anyway, it annoyed me that that bossy, uber-raider can't be bothered to put any time into advancing his toons outside of raids. He just said "I get all my gear through raiding." Guess he just expects all of us to carry him until he gets some lucky drops....

We ended up deciding to clear MSV last night instead of working on ToES. I guess the plan is to go there tonight and not work on HoF at all this week.

So! Back to my Monk/Hunter duo! After the raid, I switched back over to them and wasted a ton of time on quests I really shouldn't have been trying to dual box. I died a bunch of times in Zul'drak (I usually LOVE that zone) and gave up once I hit 78. I headed to Storm Peaks and cranked out the last couple of levels and hit 80 at around 2:30 am my time. I then quickly had my Hunter summon my Rogue, who was 61, and grant her levels up to 80. I then stripped the Hunter, sold all her BOE's, mailed he heirlooms back to my main account, and logged her out. That account technically doesn't expire until the 27th, but since the RAF ends this morning, I don't see any reason to ever log back into it.

So, now I have an 80+ of every class on my main account! I have a woefully undergeared Monk and Rogue that I have no idea how to play. But I'm thinking that come 5.2 I'll upgrade their heirlooms and see what I can do about getting them to 85 and maybe even 90 eventually!

I've been thinking a lot about which of my toons I want to get to 90 next. The real problem is that I am raiding on three toons right now. That's six nights a week, because I do two nights with each toon. My Resto Shaman is Tues/Weds. My Resto Druid is Fri/Sun. And my Pally is Sat/Mon. I'm trying (and failing) to still run LFR on all of them and to cap valor every week. I can usually cap valor on my Shaman and Pally, but I've been neglecting my Druid. I always cap my Shaman first, because she gets a bunch of valor from the first raids of the week, then I've been playing my Pally a lot because she's the least-geared and has the most potential upgrades from LFR. By the end of the week, my poor Druid usually only has her valor out of her raids (at least she has the Valor of the Ancients buff by then) and maybe one or two LFRs if I have time?

So, getting another toon to 90 isn't a super high priority for me, because I have so little time and because I have no idea what I'd do with her. I have never been one of those people who can get a toon to max level and then just park it. I only really feel motivated to level if I feel like I'm actually going to make some end-game progress with the toon. So I would, at the very least, want to get her geared for LFR, even if my schedule won't accommodate any more normal mode raids.

I love healing, so I'm tempted to level another healer. I have my 85 Disc Priest, and of course the 80 Monk now, that I have no clue how to heal with. But I'm also kind of itching to try out some DPS. It just seems like leveling and dailies would be so much easier on a real DPS (not just my healers in offspec gear). If I do go the DPS route, I'm heavily leaning toward my Warlock. I've been loving Warlocks in my raids this expansion and I think I'd have some real opprotunities to raid if I ever wanted to cut back on raiding with my healers.

Okay, that's enough rambling for now. Thanks for reading if you did.
